The Standard, Copenhagen | Sorensen Leather

The Standard, Copenhagen

Overlooking Copenhagen’s inner harbour is The Standard. Designed in 1937 by Kristoffer Varming, the building was used as a customs house for goods to and from Sweden. English designer, retailer and restaurateur Terrence Conrad acquired the building in 2005 and transformed it into a restaurant complex. Since then, a Danish group of investors took over and recently revamped the concept with Kjær Architecture while honouring the Danish Functionalism of the building and Art Deco inspired interior.

Featuring SPECTRUM
Step inside and you’ll find the Series 430 chairs by Verner Panton originally introduced in 1967. Nearly fifty years after Panton took the design world by storm, with his sinuous shaped designs, geometric patterns and courageous incorporation of colours, Verpan re-launched this gem in new contemporary colours, including versions crafted with our SPECTRUM leather.
