Care & Cleaning
Our leather is ready to be used, as soon as you receive it. There is no need to treat it in any way.
As a natural material, leather requires looking after. If you care for the leather in the right way, it will become even more beautiful over time.
Over time, if you see the need for cleaning, use a vacuum cleaner once or twice a month with a soft brush to remove any dust. Once or twice a year for thorough cleaning, use the foam from soap flakes stirred in warm water. Apply the foam with a dry soft cloth, minimising any contact with water. Protect from excessive temperatures and sharp objects.

As CURACARE has been tested to be used in the care sector, chlorine (1000 ppm), ethanol (70%) and universal wipes can be used to clean the leather with. If chlorine wipes are used for a prolonged period, white crystals can appear in the leather’s surface. These are leftover residues from the chlorine wipes, and can easily be removed with a soft cloth and the foam from soap flakes stirred in warm water. Over time, if the leather starts drying out, you can use the foam from soap flakes stirred in warm water. Apply the foam with a dry soft cloth, minimizing any contact with water.

Sustainability

SKJULT - SLET IKKE

Leather is one of the most durable materials that can be used for furniture upholstery. Its long durability can reduce the need for replacement and overall material consumption.

Why is leather a sustainable alternative for furniture in healthcare environments?

Raw hides are a natural, circular material, which we upcycle into leather through responsible production processes. Leather is also one of the most durable materials that can be used for furniture upholstery. In line with the standards from “Grønne hospitaler” which require Danish healthcare institutions to reduce their carbon footprint, we have conducted a lifecycle assessment of our leather and have a documented carbon footprint of 8,7kg CO2e/m2 of leather. The long durability of leather is a key factor when estimating its environmental impact, as the longer the lifespan of leather, the lower the yearly emissions. This data can be used by healthcare institutions on their calculations.
