Healthcare Collections
– Developed for Hygiene, Durability and to Enhance Well-being
Sørensen Leather has developed two high-performance protected leather collections, specifically for healthcare interiors where hygiene, durability and emotional comfort are essential.
Our materials are designed to meet the increasing demands of modern healthcare environments — balancing clinical requirements with human-centred design.
Responding to a Growing Healthcare Demand
With the rapid ageing of the world’s population, healthcare demand is rising significantly with the increase of chronic diseases, rising healthcare challenges, a growing need for rehabilitation and long-term care, and a projected doubling of hospital days among people aged 70+ in Denmark alone.
Recognizing this shift, Sørensen Leather participated in a structured, research-based development project driven by the Danish Technological Institute. A project focused on exploring the real potential of natural leather as an upholstery material for interior design and furniture solutions in the care sector, where particularly high standards are placed on hygiene, comfort, functionality, documentation and responsibility.
Developed for Healthcare – Based on Research
The project provided us with a stronger basis for decision-making and a more qualified approach to working in this environment. Over the past year, we have been working to translate knowledge into a concrete concept, which we are happy to launch.
CURACARE is the outcome of this project. A high-performance protected leather, developed specifically for healthcare interiors where hygiene, durability and emotional comfort are essential. CURACARE joins TRIUMPH CRIB 5® as the two Sørensen Leather’s genuine leather collections for high-performance environments.
From Clinical Spaces to Human-Centred Environments
As healthcare environments are undergoing a transformation, hospitals, nursing homes and clinical spaces are moving away from the traditional, institutional aesthetics, towards a more human-centered and residential interior environment.
This shift requires upholstery materials that deliver:
- Proven hygiene performance
- Durability
- Comfortable seating solutions, combined with a homely feeling and familiar connection
- Evidence-based colour and design integration
- Industry certifications
Sørensen Leather’s CURACARE and TRIUMPH CRIB® are high-performance leather collections, developed to meet the ever-evolving design demands from the healthcare industry. Making the bridge between clinical environments and adding a homely feeling to it, with a natural material that adds warmth and comfort to clinical spaces.
Our leathers are made to bridge the gap between the familiarity of home and the functionality of an institution, all without compromising on durability, strength, or performance.
