Responsibility Is Part of Our DNA
Sustainability is a subject close to our hearts. Over the past 50 years, we have developed a strong sustainability profile, and sustainability is now a key driver of our decisions and ambitions.
In 2026, we launch our first ESG report, which gathers and highlights all the sustainability initiatives we have been working on over the last decade, including becoming a certified B Corp, our share of certified collections, carbon footprint of product, as well as our work with governance, suppliers and customers. This ESG reports also sets clear standards for our future development.
B Corp:
Verified Standards for Social and Environmental Business Practices
As a certified B Corp, we are a part of a global community of companies committed to meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. Unlike product-specific certifications, B Corp takes a holistic approach, evaluating a company’s overall impact across different areas.
B Corp provides a framework to evaluate and improve our internal processes. It is documented proof that not only do we deliver high quality leather, but reinforces our commitment to making a positive impact on society and the planet.
Responsible Production Starts With Strong Partnerships
At Sørensen Leather, we are committed to responsible production practices with a minimal resource consumption, which is why we produce our leather at some of the industry’s best tanneries.
We have been working with our partners for a minimum of ten years and we have a close relationship with them. Most of the tanneries we work with are Leather Working Group certified, which sets high standards for responsible leather production.
Our ambition is to push our industry in a more responsible direction. From achieving B Corp certification to expanding certified collections and documenting our product carbon footprint, we continuously challenge ourselves to improve.
Sustainability is a long-term commitment – to our products, partners, people and society.

Almost 70% certified Collections
Environmental certifications are an important supplement to strong supplier relations, and specialized documentation can help driving positive social and environmental change.
We are proud that almost 70% of our collections are now certified by independent certification authorities, including OEKO-TEX, The Danish Indoor Climate Label, Animal Protection Denmark, or the Blue Angel.
Carbon Footprint
Together with Energy Solution, we have conducted a lifecycle assessment study to quantity the global warming potential (GWP) of 1m2 of Sørensen Leather.
The results show that our overall GWP is of 8,7kg CO2e per m2 of leather – documented and third-party verified. It demonstrates that leather has a significantly lower carbon footprint than previously assumed. Its long potential lifespan being a key factor when estimating its environmental impact.
Animal Welfare
At Sørensen Leather, we are fully committed to animal welfare, and we believe that all animals should be treated with kindness and respect.
We support the strict rules of animal welfare according to EU guidelines, which are among the most comprehensive in the world.
