In the historic building Mejlborg from 1898, Dinesen and Garde Hvalsøe share a showroom that features our VITA® leather on different furniture, from traditional cushions to an innovative table top, demonstrating the leather’s creative potential.
Our VITA® leather is the only leather in the industry certified by Animal Protection Denmark. With this unique certification the leather is integrated into the interior design by Djernes & Bell, and chosen for its beautiful patina that ages gracefully. This choice aligns seamlessly with Dinesen and Garde Hvalsøe’s commitment to quality natural materials and their focus on embracing the beauty of aging wood. The aesthetic and dynamic expression of these materials each tells a unique story, engaging and speaking to your senses.
Inspiration for the interior concept is drawn from the original uses of each room and their history, reinterpreted in a modern context. The design highlights three transformative crafts across three rooms: a salon, a kitchen area with a pantry, and a study, showcasing our VITA® leather in various furniture pieces.
Our VITA® collection: The Industry’s Only Leather Certified by Animal Protection Denmark
VITA® is an exclusive and supremely soft aniline leather certified by Animal Protection Denmark, as the only one in the industry with this label. This leather can be traced back to the exact animal and where it lived due to a laser engraved number.
This leather collection is developed in close collaboration with Himmerlandskød. The rawhides come from the finest cattle from their project Nordjysk Naturkød, where the cows pasture on North Jutland in Denmark. Through upcycling, the raw hides are upgraded into genuine high-quality leather, only available in a limited amount of hides.
