Encompassing local natural materials, subtle structures and carefully arranged plants, Giardino Restaurant & Bar in Bern, Switzerland is redesigned by architect Nina Mair.
A sensory garden experience
Comprising a fully glazed winter garden and a monolithic stone bar, the essence of the interior design bridges two worlds, creating a harmonious blend between indoor and outdoor spaces. True to the restaurant’s name “Giardino” which means “Garden” in Italian, the interior incorporates numerous plants, bringing the sensory delights of a garden experience indoors. A combination of tactile materials and matte surfaces cultivates a serene ambiance and makes the guest feel welcomed as they enter the restaurant.
Furniture upholstered in SPECTRUM
The colour palette includes blue and green shades throughout the dining area that create a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. For the seating, Nina Mair chose our SPECTRUM leather collection. A soft semi-aniline leather collection with a very subtle texture and shine. Its light surface finish protects the leather from stains, making it easy to maintain. One of the unique things about SPECTRUM is that it comes in more than 85 colours, making it an excellent choice if you want to unfold your creativity. Furthermore, this collection has received the LEATHER STANDARD by OEKO-TEX® certification and is also certified with the German Blue Angel Ecolabel (Der Blaue Engel).
