With its ability to patinate over time, leather can merge stories of the past and the present. For this very reason, Mayr-Glatzl architects and FiLAFiL! interior designers chose to use leather for the renovation of Refugium Lunz – a high-end boutique and spa hotel located in a place steeped in 360 years of local history.
“A hotel like this needs materials that become more beautiful with time and use. Materials that develop their own patina and emphasize the character of the building. Leather masters this balancing act best,” says Teresa Urbano, Interior Designer & Owner of FiLAFiL!
High Lightfastness with FLUX® Leather
In Refugium Lunz, the hotel rooms offer a perfect setting for daydreaming. As a guest, you are naturally drawn to the large window seat, which suits the occasion by being upholstered in our Dark Green, OEKO-TEX® certified FLUX® leather.
FLUX® features a smooth, matte surface which, compared to other leather types, is very resistant to sun-induced fading. Seated on this soft bench, guests can enjoy a quiet moment, as the indoor tranquillity seamlessly merges with the outdoor allure.
TRIUMPH CRIB5® is Easy to Clean
At the hotel’s spa, your senses come alive, stirred not just by the sauna’s changing temperatures but also by the many different materials and textures.
“The materials are chosen because of their abilities to complement, enliven, strengthen and of course also contradict each other. Almost like a couple in love. The leather in particular gives everything fabric-related a wonderful support,” says Teresa Urbano.
The chaise lounge spots just outside the sauna are covered in our TRIUMPH CRIB5® leather, known for its easy-to-clean properties. This leather can be easily maintained by the hotel staff using chlorine and wet wipes. Additionally, TRIUMPH CRIB5® is fire-tested and certified with the Danish Indoor Climate Label for added safety and impeccable quality.
