VITA®
VITA® is an exclusive and supremely soft aniline leather certified by Animal Protection Denmark, as the only one in the industry with this label. This leather can be traced back to the exact animal and where it lived due to a laser engraved number.
This leather collection is developed in close collaboration with Himmerlandskød. The rawhides come from the finest cattle from their project Nordjysk Naturkød, where the cows pasture on North Jutland in Denmark. Through upcycling, the raw hides are upgraded into genuine high-quality leather, only available in a limited amount of hides.
What’s unique about VITA® is that all hides come from farmers who comply with the detailed requirements of the label “Approved by Animal Protection Denmark”. Only less than 50 beef cattle farmers in Denmark are approved by this label. The label “Approved by Animal Protection Denmark” has a very high focus on animal welfare, including, animal health and feed, environmental measures, security and quality.
VITA® comes in a beautiful cognac colour and will age gracefully over time, as patina will enhance its natural beauty. It’s one of a kind with beautiful natural markings that bring a unique and appealing personality to each hide. It’s one of the telltale signs of 100% genuine aniline leather.
The tactile feeling of VITA® is sublime, and a true pleasure to touch. It’s a natural beauty meant to last for generations, and it will bring an understated elegance to any design.
All farmers approved by Animal Protection Denmark are audited at least once a year through announced and unannounced audits, which guarantees their continuous compliance with the strict guidelines defined by the label. Some of their requirements are to keep animals free range on pasture during the Summer, and keeping them in a loose housing system where they are able to move around freely when indoors, with enough space for the cows to stand up and lie down in a natural matter – as a minimum. There are also requirements in regards to how their bedding should be, that they must have access to feed of good quality, free access to drinking water at all times and daily inspection to make sure they are not injured or feel stressed. The animals must be registered, tagged and identifiable.
VITA® is specially selected and one of our deluxe, high-end leathers. A premium choice for your next design due to its high quality.
Just like any other of our collections, all animals are raised under ethical conditions, which means that animal welfare and respect for animals is of utmost importance, to ensure the cattle is healthy and that they lived a good and respectful life. Read more here.

Care & cleaning
As a natural material, leather requires looking after. If you care for the leather in the right way, it will become even more beautiful over time. Here are a few tips: Our leather is ready for you to use as soon as it arrives, so there is no initial need to treat it or clean it. Over time if you see the need for cleaning, use a vacuum cleaner once or twice a month with a soft brush to remove any dust. Once or twice a year for thorough cleaning, use the foam from soap flakes stirred in warm water. Apply the foam with a dry soft cloth, minimising any contact with water. Avoid bar soap, saddle soap, leather cleaners, household detergents or chemical products. Protect from direct sunlight, excessive heat and sharp objects The care and maintenance of leather will always depend on the specific way in which it is used, the conditions of use and how often it is used.
