Furnishing Utopia 3.0: Hands To Work was a New York exhibition from Design Within Reach honouring the legacy of the Shakers. Designers from around the world were invited to explore the Shaker aesthetic based on simplicity, utility and honesty with concepts that foster a renewed sense of engagement between people, everyday objects and their environment. Norm Architects represented Denmark with a hybrid design of two known types of Shaker stools, expressed in a new, more contemporary aesthetic that elegantly embraces both. We are pleased to be the source of leather for Norm’s stunning Utility Stools with selects from our ROYAL NUBUCK collection. The stools are constructed with solid oak wood planks from Dinesen.
