The Copenhagen-based architect and design studio, Norm Architects, are behind the interior decoration of a beautiful Y/Yachts model Y9 by Michael Schmidt.
Simple and minimalistic space
Norm Architects, known for their soft minimal design approach, wanted to support an overall warm exclusive look and feel throughout the yacht. The outcome is a simplified and coherent space with few selected shades of colors that unite sophisticated and refined details, natural materials, and tactile surfaces – without compromising spaciousness or comfort. High-quality craftsmanship combined with understated luxury.
Tactile surfaces
The Y9 Yacht serves both as a multifunctional space and a comfortable retreat for the owners, where they can feel at home. Embracing the natural bends and slopes of a yacht, Norm Architects succeeded in creating a homey feel and harmonious interior within a soft, minimal universe of natural materials and tactile surfaces. The dining area offers enough space for eight guests and appears light and cozy, taking advantage of the light that flows in through the windows. In case of waves and wind, the dining chairs are fixed to the table with leather clips.
Featuring ROYAL NUBUCK
The cabinets in the bedroom as well as the bed are upholstered in ROYAL NUBUCK. A subtle suede leather in contrast to the dark lamella walls and wooden floors, softening up the space.
