HARNESS® at Strandgade 104, Copenhagen
Our HARNESS® leather takes center stage in the transformation of the historic Skindpakhus (former warehouse for fur and hides) at Strandgade 104 in the heart of Copenhagen.
At the core of the property is an elevator connecting all floors, serving as the building’s centerpiece. This elevator is elegantly covered in our HARNESS® leather, paying homage to the building’s historical use.
Meticulously restored by the renowned design studio David Thulstrup, the building has been converted into exclusive luxury apartments, each imbued with character and a deep respect for historical references.
In this project, HARNESS® was selected to patinate alongside the room’s natural materials and the ambient light. Using our HARNESS® leather innovatively as a signature wall not only adds a distinctive touch to the restoration but also stands as a testament to how our leather can be used beyond the traditional.
Our HARNESS® collection: A Fire-Tested Supportive Weight-Bearing Leather
HARNESS® is a weight-bearing leather designed for furniture where the leather itself is the supportive element. Strong and firm, its smooth surface provides sturdy comfort, and is chosen in this project to patinate togther with the rooms natural materials and the light.
Additionally, HARNESS® meets specific requirements concerning safety. It’s been fire-tested to fulfil stringent requirements that include Crib5 – the British Standards within flammability.
